In just five short years, Ed Ross and Dan Allen, a dynamic duo of chippy mates, have not only established a thriving empire in the workwear industry but have also initiated a groundbreaking mental health organisation. Their brainchild, TIACS (This Is A Conversation Starter), aims to provide free counselling and support to blue-collar workers across the nation. With over $700,000 worth of free counselling services already delivered to more than 4,000 tradies, these remarkable individuals are taking monumental steps to address the mental health concerns prevalent among tradespeople.
While achieving success in the workwear industry, Ed and Dan also realised the pressing issue of mental health within the trades community. Tradies often face unique challenges and stressors, which can take a toll on their well-being. Recognising the lack of accessible mental health support for blue-collar workers, they decided to make a difference.
Thus, TIACS was born. As a not-for-profit organisation, TIACS offers free counselling and support to tradespeople across the country. By breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, Ed and Dan have created a platform where tradies can openly discuss their struggles and seek professional guidance.
