Meet Nathan Smith, a man with a remarkable story that will leave you inspired and amazed.

Starting his career as a plumber, Nathan never imagined he would one day find himself serving in the NSW parliament. It all began when a friend playfully suggested he should give politics a shot and use his impressive speaking skills for a greater purpose. Little did he know that this seemingly casual remark would set him on an extraordinary path.

With over 20 years of experience leading and coordinating campaigns for high-profile companies, associations, and politicians, Nathan brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. He also boasts six years of expertise in government relations, community relations, and PR consulting at a senior level. This diverse background has equipped him with a unique capacity for first-class relationship management among Federal, State, and Local Government members, the community, and small and large business people.

Nathan’s skillset is impressive, covering negotiation, strategy, client relationship management, media handling, networking, event coordination, fundraising, and written submissions. He’s not just a solo player; Nathan is a team player, self-motivated, loyal, and committed to going the extra mile.

Having served as a former local Councillor in Kogarah and a State Member of Parliament, Nathan’s journey has been filled with diverse experiences. His involvement in running businesses in Plumbing and Communications has further shaped his perspectives. He has walked the talk and understands the challenges and aspirations of small business owners. His passion for seeing small businesses succeed is palpable and drives his advocacy for the plumbing industry as the CEO of the Master Plumbers Association of NSW.

In this podcast episode, Nathan joins Nic and Waz to share his incredible journey. Get ready for some fascinating insights and engaging conversations as they explore the world of politics, the challenges of different roles, and giving trades the appreciation they deserve.
